The 49ers dominated on the road in Week 11, defeating the Arizona Cardinals 4122, and the Faithful made a visiting stadium feel like home once again. Cheers for San Francisco flooded State Farm Stadium from kickoff to the final whistle, creating an atmosphere so loud that the Cardinals were forced to operate on a silent count. As noted on the broadcast via Allison Williams, Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brisett acknowledged before the game, "It's a little different. It kind of blows my mind that a road team can be that loud. I've never had to worry about silent count at home before." WithBrock PurdyandRicky Pearsallback on offense in their return to their home state, the team fed off the energy from the Faithful and delivered a well-rounded win. Here are five takeaways from the Week 11 win:
Skyy Moore Ignites the Day
San Francisco set the tone instantly with a 98-yard kickoff return bySkyy Mooreon the opening play of the game. His sprint down the field brought the ball to the Arizona 1-yard line, and running backChristian McCaffreypunched in a touchdown on the very next snap. The sequence gave the 49ers an immediate lead and momentum for the rest of the contest.
Purdy Shines in His Return
Making his return to the field, and doing so just miles from where he grew up, Purdy ran an efficient offense. He finished with 200 passing yards and three touchdowns, distributing the ball to all levels of the field. He finished with a 73.1 completion percentage and a 133.5 QB rate.
Purdy and Kittle Make 49ers History
Tight endGeorge Kittlereached a major career milestone, hauling in the 50th receiving touchdown of his career as part of his two-touchdown performance. His connection with Purdy continues to be one of the league's most reliable, and the pair made franchise history on Sunday. Their 23rd touchdown connection officially surpassed Steve Young and Brent Jones (22) for the most QB-to-TE touchdowns in 49ers history. Only Alex Smith and Vernon Davis remain ahead of them.
McCaffrey Scores Three Times
McCaffrey found the end zone three times against Arizona, including the one-yard score on the opening drive. The dual-back's versatility once again created trouble for the Cardinals offense and McCaffrey scored twice on the ground and once through the air, counting up 18 points alone.
Defense Secures Key Turnovers
San Francisco's defense delivered timely stops and momentum-shifting plays that helped seal the win. SafetyMalik Mustaphagrabbed his first interception of the season in the second quarter, jumping a pass that halted an Arizona drive. Defensive backDeommodore Lenoirlater added a 64-yard interception return that set up another 49ers touchdown. The unit capped the afternoon with a goal-line stand in the fourth quarter when rookie cornerUpton Stoutforced a fumble at the 1-yard line and defensive linemanKeion Whiterecovered it, denying the Cardinals a score.
Next up, the 49ers return home for "Monday Night Football" as they host the Carolina Panthers at Levi's Stadium.
